Sewing & Zippers

The oldest of the textile arts, sewing began in the Paleolithic era. First sewing animal hides together, and using needles made from ivory and bone, people across Europe and Asia have sewn clothing to stay warm and protect themselves from the elements. Hand sewing was the only method until the sewing machine was invented in the 19^th century, but even after the rise of industrialization hand sewing is still used as a method for textile artists around the world. Our sewing and zippers collection is meant to contribute to the expression of sewing arts by both hand and machine, and our sewing notions and supplies include sewing thread, bobbins, zippers, and bobbin holders.
