Elastic

Our elastic collection includes elastic cord for a number of different styles of jewelry, projects, and designs. We are often asked what type of elastic can be used with a 6mm or 8mm bead, but when planning to create jewelry with elastic, the more important question is hole size. Some 8mm beads have very small holes and others have large holes. If you are able to measure with a caliper prior to ordering your elastic that is best. Another important factor is how heavy are your beads. Some thinner types of elastic will not do well in jewelry with very heavy beads. Crystal string is great for most jewelry projects using smaller beads while fabric-covered elastic is great for larger, more heavy beads. Our other elastic cords include flat elastic, spandex nylon cord, stretchy fiber string, barbed cord, and stretch cord.
