DIY Popsicle Stick Scarecrow: A Fun Weekend Craft for All Ages

Fall is the perfect time to get crafty, and what better way to celebrate the season than by making an adorable DIY popsicle stick scarecrow! This project is a great way for kids and adults to enjoy some creative time together, and it’s a wonderful addition to your autumn décor.

Materials Needed:

  • Popsicle sticks
  • Paint (orange, blue, white)
  • Markers
  • Raffia ribbon
  • Hot glue or craft glue

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Build the base: Start by gluing five popsicle sticks side by side onto a small piece of paper to create the scarecrow’s body, then place another diagonally across the top third of your scarecrow. Let it dry.

2. Draw & paint your scarecrow: Use a pencil to stencil out the face of your scarecrow. Then take paint or markers to fill in the scarecrow’s friendly face.

Feel free to add a cute button nose, a stitched smile, and rosy cheeks. You can also add 'stitching' to your scarecrows hat by creating a dashed line around it.

3. Add hair: Cut small strips of raffia ribbon and glue them to the back of the popsicle sticks, creating straw-like hair.

And just like that, you have your very own DIY scarecrow to display! This easy and fun project is perfect for kids, parents, and anyone looking to add a little handmade charm to their fall decorations.

Happy crafting!
